A random conversation #1
I visited Goa sometime back. I’d say it was a most awaited vacation after covid lockdown.
On one fine evening, I was sitting on the seashore. Was feeling the waves, thinking about random things happening around, listening to the songs (obviously Lucky Ali — “Spotify Premium without ads 😛”).
A person (pineapple seller) came and asked me if I want a Pineapple.
I said yes! And I asked for the price.
Tip: Don’t say no to pineapple there — It’s really very tasty! 😍 (They import it from Kerala — this is what I got to know)
He said, “Madam! aap to itne dino se le rahe ho pineapple. Aapko to pata hai — jo sahi lage de dena”
(Madam! you’re buying pineapple for so many days. You know the price — pay whatever you feel is good).
Oh! How do you know that? — I asked him surprisingly.
I asked you for pineapple a few days back. You said - No, not right now. And after some time when I came back again, you already bought it from some other person — He said.
I laughed and said, “Sorry! about that”.
Meanwhile, he was peeling the pineapple. I continued the conversation and said where are you from?
He said, U.P.
U.P. — Uttar Pradesh state in India, by train it will be around ~30+ hours of journey from Goa
I’m from M.P. 😀(Neighboring state of U.P.) — I said. Why are you working here so far from home?
I came here with some reference. Now working here.
Ok. So, you were here during a lockdown or managed to go home? — I asked.
In starting I was here. Went home after the government provided the buses.
Great! Then how did you managed there as you didn’t had a job?
“Keth waghra hai wahan par to wahan kaam kiya.
Abhi pichle mahine hi wapas aaya. Log chuttiyan manane Goa aate hai, hame to gaaon me zada accha lagta hai.
Bahut time baad itne din wahan rahe, bahut maza aaya”
We have some farming field so I managed to work there.
I came back here last month. People come to Goa for vacation, but I enjoy the village a lot.
Lived there for so long after many years, I loved it. — He added.
I smiled and took my freshly chopped pineapple 🍍😍 from him.
